Söldner: Secret Wars : ウィキペディア英語版
Söldner: Secret Wars

''Söldner: Secret Wars'' is a video game, developed by Wings Simulations and published in May 2004 by JoWooD Productions. The game can be played in first- or third-person. Players can control ground vehicles, planes, VTOLs and helicopters.
The game is made to be played online, with the single-player campaign used for training.
The game and the expansion set Marine Corps were re-released together in North America by Evolved Games (Take2 Interactive) in May 2006, renamed to ''Semper Fidelis Marine Corps'' to avoid previous bad press about Söldner. Marketing text from the original Söldner release was recycled with no effort from JoWooD to promote the new release on its own merits.
==History==
The game was first published in May 2004. Forced by the publisher Wings Simulations had to publish an unfinished version of the game that contained numerous bugs which made playing the game nearly impossible. This led to negative reviews of the game which resulted in a low number of players although the game has been sold several ten thousand times. In March 2005 the add-on "Marine Corps" was released. After Wings Simulations Studios had been closed by JoWooD, a group of fans, which united under the name "Project Zero" continued improving the game and adding more content.
In July 2006 the gEasy Development Team took over the responsibility for the game due to issues with certain members of Project Zero. The gEasy Development Team was also given the responsibility to develop a successor for Söldner: Secret Wars called Soldner 2: Mercenary Wars which never was released, because gEasy Development Team quit the contract with JoWooD. This also was the end of gEasy Development Team. Several members of the old team and some other volunteers continued to further improve and develop the game. This resulted in the release of the Community Edition in 2011.
